Out in the West Texas Town…

Grady Martin. Country Music Hall of Famer. One of the LEGENDARY studio musicians in Music City history. “Grady realized, though he never bragged about it, that he was special,” Merle Haggard once said. “He understood some things about music that nobody else understood. When he’d put that down on your record, it was like a gift.” Martin was among the only musicians to have worked with both Elvis Presley and Hank Williams. A year and a half ago, Martin, along with The Jim Ed Brown and The Browns and The Oak Ridge Boys, was inducuted into the Hall. At the medallion ceremony, Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives, with a more than able assist from Vince Gill, recreated one of the iconic songs that Martin’s talents were put to good..no, GREAT use. The Marty Robbins 1959 classic, “El Paso”. Martin, who passed away in 2001, would have been pleased.
