The SCCD is applying for pesticide, nutrient management, and manure/hauler broker credits from the PA Department of Agriculture.
Presenters will come from PA Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), agricultural and conservation agencies, Penn State and Penn State Extension. Topics include: agricultural compliance, attracting natural pollinators, improving soil biology and crop productivity with cover crops, and Conservation District and U.S. Department of Agriculture updates. Penn State staff will discuss seed treatments, its use and integrated pest management (IPM), the how’s and why’s of soil testing with SCCD staff, preventing pesticide exposure, differences between adjuvants and surfactants, and managing corn ear rots and mycotoxins.
The meeting and lunch are $5.00 per person. Pay at the door.
